Golden Sanctuary
(Response to Composite Photograph by Jay Ressler
with the same name)
An empty yellow chair,
A charcoal grill gone cold,
The grass still green with summer-
But it slipped away as we blinked;
We draw inward and wrap a cloak
Of the old joy around us;
Lonely now in this cool place
We pray for one more spring.
