No. 36 |
Morning Shadows |
The House on Main Street |
Plum Way |
In these photos, which were originally full color images, I have sought to tickle out a mood
and texture by desaturating most of the image leaving the original color only in
selected areas.
The centerpiece of the collection is "No. 36" which won first place for photography in the
2007 Juried Art Show sponsored by the Monroeville, PA, Arts Council.
The interplay of shapes, texture, and color highlight the mood of abandonment. For Pittsburghers
the number "36," prominent in the image,
has special significance as the retired number of the beloved Steelers running back
Jerome "The Bus" Bettis.
This gallery is based on
works from my first show at the Perk Me Up Coffee shop on Butler Street in the Lawrenceville
section of Pittsburgh during the fall of 2006.
The collection has changed since then. | |
